ARCHERY SEASON SET TO BEGIN OCTOBER 1ST IN SUFFOLK COUNTY PARKS

Suffolk County Park Officials announced that Archery Permits will be available for purchase beginning September 26, 2016.

The Suffolk County Parks Department is pleased to offer 1,000 additional acres of hunting properties this season which is set to begin October 1, 2016.  These additional properties include parcels in the Towns of Brookhaven, Riverhead, Southampton and East Hampton, bringing the total available acreage to 10,000.   By providing safe hunting opportunities, the Suffolk County Parks Department not only meets the diverse recreational interest of its residents, but provides a responsible management tool to control deer populations in Suffolk County.

Archery hunting permits will be available at the West Sayville Administration Office Monday – Friday from 8:30 am – 4:30 pm.  They will also be available at Cathedral Pines County Park in Yaphank (631) 852-5502, Sears Bellows County Park in Hampton Bays (631) 852-8290, Cedar Point County Park in East Hampton (631) 852-7620, and Indian Island County Park in Riverhead (631) 852-3232.  Office hours at these locations vary and patrons are encouraged to call ahead.  Permits are $38 and are for Suffolk County residents only.
