Important Primary Day
This year, the registered Democrats in the Town of Huntington have an important choice to make as to who we would put forth to the general election in November, to run for Supervisor of our Town. Both Tracey Edwards and Darryl St. George are requesting our support going forward. In the past several years I have both listened to and spoken to both of these individuals about several issues of community concerns.
As a credit to Mr. St. George, he has already accepted common sense civic endorsed pledge, to affect needed reforms and be a true leader, prioritizing the will of the people rather than the will of the political parties or special interests. In the past few years acting as a civic leader, I have watched him approach several important issues and public concerns requiring both broad assessments and concise plans of actions, all which were handled it like a seasoned pro and rendered enduring results.
I also respect Ms. Edwards record of public service and dedication, and recognize that she has enabled many positive accomplishments for our community during her term on the Town Board, but have also witnessed her voting against the will of a majority of constitutes on several important community issues.
Taking these facts into aggregate consideration, as well as my experience with 34 years of public employment and civic engagement, I choose to endorse Mr. St. George as the Democratic candidate for Town Supervisor. I can personally vouch for his integrity, altruism, and complete independence from outside influences. Both my wife and I certainly hope that you give him and his platform serious consideration this coming Primary Day, September 12, 2017 and strongly urge my fellow Democrats to do the same.
