Supervisor Chad A. Lupinacci and Councilwoman Joan Cergol honored Eagle Scout Jack Albertson for his outstanding community work and Eagle Scout accomplishment at the Centerport Fire Department on Friday May 11.

Scout Albertson has shown great leadership and academic potential.  As a member of Troop 113, Scout Albertson has held several leadership positions including Patrol Leader and Quartermaster.  Albertson is also a founding member of the Robotics Club at Harborfields High School.  When he is not building robots or working with his fellow Scouts, Albertson embraces physical challenges.  Recently, Albertson completed a 50-mile hike in 5 days from Harpers Ferry, West Virginia to Gettysburg Battlefield, Pennsylvania, as well as a 75 mile canoe trip up the Allagash River.  At the end of this year, Scout Albertson will be attending Binghamton University to study computer science.

At the ceremony, Supervisor Lupinacci issued a Proclamation to the young scout, in recognition of his academic and leadership abilities: “It takes considerable determination to attain the rank of Eagle Scout, and having done so is a great reflection on Mr. Albertson’s character and his potential.”
