The Folk Music Society of Huntington’s First Saturday Concerts series continues on Dec. 2, 2017 with STEADY ON: A Celebration of Lilith Fair at 20 — a collaborative tribute to the groundbreaking 1997-1999 all-female festival tour. The 8:30 p.m. concert at the Congregational Church of Huntington (30 Washington Drive, Centerport) is preceded by an open mic at 7:30 p.m.  Tickets, priced at $25 ($20 for FMSH members) may be purchased in advance online at www.fmsh.org using a credit card or at the door (cash and checks only).

The concert will feature a powerhouse quintet of talented female performers: Sharon Goldman, Trina Hamlin, Lara Herscovitch, Amy Soucy and Sloan Wainwright. They will share songs made famous by Lilith Fair luminaries — including Shawn Colvin, Suzanne Vega, Indigo Girls, Tracy Chapman, Sarah McLachlan, Joan Osborne and more — as well as original songs inspired by the spirit of this still-relevant musical moment.

Now in its 49th year, the Folk Music Society of Huntington presents two monthly concert series, a monthly folk jam, and an annual folk festival each summer in conjunction with the Huntington Arts Council. Its Hard Luck Café series set at Huntington’s Cinema Arts Centre will feature singer-songwriters Carolann Solebello and Rich Lanahan & Gerry McKeveny on Thursday, Dec. 21, 2017.
