Today, in Albany, Assemblyman Chad Lupinacci and his Republican colleagues released an extensive list of recommended solutions to help curb New York State’s growing heroin epidemic. ‘The Heroin Epidemic – A Report on Heroin Use, Treatment, Prevention & Education Efforts in NYS’ was crafted after months of input from law enforcement, health care providers, recovering addicts, and those who lost loved ones from across New York.
“Too many families on Long Island have fallen victim to addiction and tragedy,” said Lupinacci. “In recent years, heroin has swept into our schools and homes. It’s time we take a stand against this epidemic. With recommendations from experts, our Heroin Task Force has created a very ambitious strategy to provide our communities with the resources they need to help those who need it most. I’m confident in the recommendations, and I know that this report will lay the groundwork in the continued fight against drugs and addiction.”
